More about the Great Ages + The Extraordinary quality of our Time

To put it simply, we ARE living in Extraordinary Times.  As an "observer" who has studied these different things for so many years, it's still baffling to see it all taking place. I know it won't be easy for our logical minds to take seriously. It's even a little awkward to try to explain this without sounding like some kind of religious fanatic. But these things are true, and I hope you'll allow yourself to consider them.

Each New Age is ushered in by a Master. The term Master refers to an enlightened being who comes to help others and to help humanity.  You see, the wheel on the previous page is a cycle of growth where, little by little, humanity continues to grow and evolve their ways of thinking and being. To become better and more 'enlightened' beings ourselves. With each new age comes an expanded perspective on life and new  way of thinking. In the end we grow more and more in understanding over time. Continually with each age and each cycle.

At the start of each new age and the new impulses it brings, a great teacher comes to demonstrate the new way of understanding and to help promote this new energy. Moses had come to usher in what was then the "New Age" of Aries. It's interesting to note that the temple of Luxor, built at the time of Moses, is lined with a row of Ram's-headed sphinxes.

I took this photo in '97. Luxor was one of my favorite places in Egypt.

Later it was Jesus who came to usher in the next New Age. It was the Age of Pisces. It's no coincidence that the fish and the fisherman were prominent themes for Jesus. The following image is from an Egyptian Coptic Christian church built not long after the time of Christ.

A very interesting thing to be aware of is that, here again, several different sources have said the same thing. They've said that this time the great change will be different. You'll have to go beyond the logical mind to be open to this next statement. It's been said that this time the New Age will be ushered in by the great spirit known as the Christ along with 42 other Masters, and that they're coming in ordinary human bodies. The Anthroposophists explained that this is a very rare event, for so many Masters to incarnate on a planet at once. It's been said that they've chosen to actually come into human bodies to help prepare for this shift to a New Consciousness and a "New Earth".

According to several sources I've mentioned, these Masters are on Earth now. They're working inconspicuously or "incognito" and appearing as regular human beings. The great Christ being is among them, they've said. His ancient name is Maitreya, though he's going by an ordinary human name now.  I realize how difficult this statement may be for the logical mind to consider seriously. It's an unlikely-sounding phenomenon that's very worth your consideration tho. Having heard it from a few sources now who I deeply respect, unlikely as it may sound I realize that there's a deep truth to it. Sometimes something totally unexpected happens. This is one of those times.

Again, this is awkward to try to explain. At one level it must sound absurd. I hope your rational mind will allow you to consider this. We ARE living at unprecedented and "Extraordinary Times".

"There are more things in Heaven and in Earth, Horatio than are dreamt of in your philosophy.", Shakespeare, from Hamlet.

Their most difficult task for these Masters, it's been said, will be to open people's minds to accept who they are. We've become so entrenched in our work-a-day lives and our logical thinking. It will take some "letting go" of old habits and looking beyond our logical ways of thinking to be open for this. Fundamentalists may be some of the most difficult to reach. Before they reveal themselves, they're working to help as many people as they can to be better human beings with a more open understanding and a more expanded way of thinking.

I hope this has also demystified the term "New Age". It's a cycle that has repeated itself endlessly throughout the ages. It simply refers to a great new cycle of time. There's something else that comes to mind that I'd like to pass along. The impetus behind these pages is to open people's minds to see that things may be very different than their old conceptions.
There are several people who've met the Masters and have written books about them. There are some Masters who have = lived for thousands of years in secluded Himalayan monastaries in Tibet. Both Baird T. Spalding and Murdo Macdonald-Bayne met the Masters. In the 1800s each of them made treks to some of these secluded Tibetan Monasteries and wrote of their meetings with the Masters who were living there at that time. They're very interesting books. There's a free downloadable book called "The Yoga of the Christ" at MacdonaldBayne.homestead.com. It contains conversations that Macdonald-Bayne had with the Master known as Christ.

Before closing I just wanted to explain a few words. They're words that have become highly charged and very misunderstood for some people. The first is occult. It comes from the same root as the work occular, referring to the eyes. The Anthroposophists explained that it simply refers to wisdom that's been kept hidden from the view of the general public simply because their minds weren't ready to understand it before now. Knowledge that's been formerly kept for the Initiates or the ones whose level of understanding is expanded to truly grasp the meaning of these deeper things. "Occult" simply refers to wisdom that used to be kept "hidden" for certain eyes only. The word esoteric has a similar meaning. Both refer to something that is or was kept hidden from the general public. Neither word has anything to do with evil, except in the minds of those who have misunderstood the words. In addition, all knowledge is no longer meant to be reserved only for Initiates or certain groups. All of this is now being brought out and made available to anyone who'd like to understand more.

The last term I want to mention is Maitreya. Again, it is simply the ancient name for the Christ. There is nothing negative about it. Any negativity comes only from those who have misunderstood it.
